Oracles Artworld presents...

Exodus

Saturday 13th March at 7pm

This piece is an unprecedented portrayal of the journey and essence of man. Set in a unique blend of the Great Bini Kingdom in Africa of the nineteenth century and Negro contemporary society, Exodus relieves the times of Black American slavery, the Great Bini tradition and some key biblical events.

Performed on theatre stages in four major Nigerian cities, the piece has won much applause. Its beauty lies in the fact that though the play has its roots in the biblical story of redemption, it combines with rare artistic brilliance the widest range of cultures, beliefs, myths and passions with a healthy overdose of humour and suspense in a blend of music, dance and drama.

Tickets: £10

Aberdeen Youth Music Theatre presents...

Back to the 80s

Tuesday 23rd to Saturday 27th March at 7.30pm

Saturday Matinee at 2pm

Musical by Neil Gooding

Additional Material by Stuart Smith

Revised Orchestrations and arrangements by Brett Foster

Original Musical Adaptation by Scott Copeman

By arrangement with JOSEF WEINBERGER LTD

AYMT are showing their versatility by tackling a bright, exuberant musical as their production this year in the form of “Back to the 80’s”.  This gives them the chance to re-live the pop era their parents grew up with.

When the Rubik’s cube, huge shoulders pads and new romantics were all the rage, Cory Palmer, who is now in his 30’s, looks back to the 1980’s to his final year of William Ocean High.  He reminisces about his first love for his next door neighbour, Tiffany Houston who barely notices him, and having to try and compete against the coolest guy at school, Michael Feldman.  His humerous look at love and life in the 80’s will surely stir a few memories and raise a smile to all those who grew up in this exciting decade.

This awesome musical contains the old hits such as Kids in America, Material Girl, Footloose, We are the World, Total Eclipse of the Heart and many more which will have you bopping away in your seat.
